October 18, 2012: 37 weeks, 1 day
Two new developments this week to announce:
1. My friend Amanda and I cut off all our hair to donate to Locks of Love. (Her hair was longer than mine, so my haircut ended up being extra short... but hair grows back, right?) Thank you, prenatal vitamins! - my hair has never grown so fast or so full!
2. We reached the 37 week mark, which means SAMMY IS FULL TERM! :) He should be here any day/week now! We will find out on Wednesday his estimated birth weight.

October 12, 2012: 36 weeks, 2 days
It's official - we have reached the NINE MONTHS milestone :) Now that the big day is getting closer and closer, the realities of parenthood are starting to hit home. I am relishing these lazy Fall days with the dogs - sleeping in, going for long walks, trips to the dog beach and the park, snuggling on the couch while watching all my favorite reruns... pretty soon, Gus and Pocket are going to have to take the back seat to being my "babies", so I'm spoiling them as much as possible while I still can.
We've been receiving lots of gifts lately both in person and in the mail, and everyone's generosity is greatly appreciated :) We have most of what we'll need for the first few weeks. Now all we need is for Sammy to finally get here!
During the 8th month, I was very anxious for Sammy to be born, and hoped that he would arrive as soon as we hit 37 weeks. Now that 37 weeks is only a matter of days away, I'm in much less of a hurry to wish away these last precious weeks left, as I am starting to realize that our lives will be changed forever, and this is the last time it'll just be Scott and I in the house. It's been nice just being a couple - just the two of us - too bad we only had a little over a year to enjoy it!
But anyway, November is quickly approaching, and we couldn't be happier as we make the final preparations to welcome little Sammy into our lives. Less than 30 days to go!
Oh yeah, and GO CARDINALS!

September 30, 2012: 34 weeks 4 days

September 24, 2012: 33 weeks, 5 days
Sammy is growing by leaps and bounds! I remember writing a post for the 24 weeks milestone, and how excited Scott and I were to have reached the first "safety" point in the pregnancy - meaning Sammy was officially developed enough to survive outside the womb. It's hard to believe that that was almost 10 weeks ago, and now he is not only fully developed, but is also big enough to make his movements visible to the outside world. I spend many evenings just staring at my belly as it morphs into different shapes and positions as Sammy flips from side to side.
But as fast as those 10 weeks flew by, now time is starting to go by slowly again as my anticipation for Sammy's arrival builds and builds. Between the increase in my excitement and the increase in my waist line, both are really starting to weigh me down. Sammy's arrival can't come soon enough! But until then, I will do my best to appreciate the time I have now, just me, Scott, and our three canine sons who think they are human.

22 days until Sammy is FULL TERM!
But who knows when Sammy will decide he's full term and ready to go ;)
